Private Jet Exumas to Fort Wayne

Exumas to Fort Wayne covers about 1,147 nautical miles, a sector well suited to a Citation CJ4, Phenom 300 or Pilatus PC-12, with jet options completing the crossing in roughly two and a quarter hours at cruise altitudes near 43,000 feet. The turboprop alternative remains popular for this route given Exuma International Airport’s runway characteristics and the flexibility it offers for the shorter island hops many passengers combine with the mainland leg, particularly those continuing on to one of the smaller cays further down the chain. The Exumas are perhaps best known for the swimming pigs of Big Major Cay and for waters so consistently clear that the chain has become a favourite backdrop for both boaters and photographers alike, with Georgetown serving as the archipelago’s low-key capital. Fort Wayne could not present a more different landscape, its identity built around a resurgent downtown, the restored Embassy Theatre, and a manufacturing heritage that continues to anchor the regional economy. This route draws yacht charter guests, second-home owners, and increasingly a younger set of Instagram-era travellers chasing the pigs and sandbars, all of whom value a direct private routing over the multiple inter-island connections that reaching this stretch of the Exumas by scheduled service would otherwise require. Superyacht crews provisioning in Georgetown before a longer Bahamian cruise frequently use this corridor to rotate owners and guests in and out on their own schedule, a pattern that has made the Exumas one of the more consistently active departure points among the Out Islands for Fort Wayne-bound private traffic.
