Private Jet Exumas to Gilbert

The Exumas, a chain of more than three hundred cays stretching through the central Bahamas, sit approximately 1,973 nautical miles from Gilbert, a sector comfortably handled by a mid-size or super mid-size jet in around three and a half hours. Aircraft such as the Citation Latitude or Challenger 350 cover the distance efficiently, cruising in the high thirties to low forties across the Gulf of Mexico and the American Southwest. Departures use Exuma International Airport, serving an island chain that has become one of the most photographed destinations in the Bahamas thanks to its famous swimming pigs and the turquoise shallows of the Thunderball Grotto. The route lands at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, a private aviation hub east of Phoenix known for efficient handling and its distance from the congestion that can affect the region’s commercial gateways. Gilbert has grown from an agricultural town into one of Arizona’s fastest-expanding suburbs over the past three decades, its neighbourhoods known for strong schools and its downtown rebuilt from converted farm buildings. The Exumas, by contrast, have become a favourite of the yachting world, their sheltered anchorages and clear water anchoring the annual Exuma Regatta and drawing sailors from across the Americas each spring. This sector particularly suits yacht owners, leisure travellers and property owners seeking a direct, private hop to one of the Bahamas’ most naturally spectacular island chains. Georgetown, the island chain’s small capital, hosts the annual Family Island Regatta each April, drawing traditional Bahamian sailing sloops from across the archipelago. Staniel Cay and the wider Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park protect much of the marine environment from development.
