Private Jet Fort Lauderdale to Charlestown

Fort Lauderdale sits roughly 1,121 nautical miles from Charlestown, making this one of the shorter Florida-to-Nevis sectors and a natural fit for a light or mid-size jet. Operators regularly deploy the Citation CJ4 for smaller parties or the Gulfstream G280 where a larger cabin and galley service are wanted, both able to complete the roughly two-hour crossing comfortably within their published range while cruising well above the weather systems that periodically build over the Bahamas. Departure from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport places passengers at one of the busiest private aviation hubs in the country, from where the route runs southeast over the Bahamian archipelago and the open Atlantic before arriving at Vance W. Amory International Airport on Nevis. The relative brevity of the flight, often under two and a half hours block to block, makes it a realistic option even for a long weekend, a rarity among the island’s international connections, most of which demand a fuller week to justify the travel time involved. South Florida’s dense charter market and Nevis’s status as a discreet alternative to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos make this pairing a consistent seller among brokers serving both leisure travellers and yacht owners repositioning crew or guests ahead of a Caribbean season. Families based in Miami or the Fort Lauderdale corridor frequently use this sector for shoulder-season escapes, drawn by Nevis’s uncrowded beaches and the plantation-inn hospitality that has defined the island’s tourism identity for decades, without the crowds that busier Florida-adjacent islands now attract. With no non-stop commercial service linking the two cities, private charter remains the fastest way to bridge South Florida and the Leeward Islands, particularly for those unwilling to lose the better part of a travel day to a San Juan connection.
