Private Jet Kigali to Serengeti

Of all the routes into the Serengeti, few are as short as the hop from Kigali, just 278 nautical miles and around forty-five minutes in the air. A light jet or very light jet such as the Phenom 100 or Citation Mustang is entirely sufficient for a sector this brief, cruising at a modest altitude and never straying far from Rwanda’s lush hills before descending over the plains of northern Tanzania. Departure is from Kigali International Airport, serving Rwanda’s compact and increasingly popular capital, with arrival at Seronera Airstrip in the middle of Serengeti National Park. Rwanda’s own wildlife draw, mountain gorillas in the Virunga highlands, sits in sharp contrast to the open grassland awaiting at Seronera, where instead of dense montane forest guests find endless horizons, granite kopjes rising from the plain, and some of the highest densities of big cats found anywhere in Africa. This short sector has become a favourite for travellers building a two-reserve East African itinerary, pairing a gorilla trek in Rwanda with a Serengeti safari within the same week. Scheduled flights between Kigali and northern Tanzania exist but typically route through Nairobi or Dar es Salaam, turning a forty-five-minute journey into the better part of a day. A private charter keeps the connection as brief as the distance genuinely warrants, letting guests move from forest to savannah in less time than it takes to clear a busy regional airport terminal. It is also a route where weight and balance rarely pose any constraint, so even a fully loaded aircraft with safari gear for a full group makes the short hop with room to spare.
