Private Jet Marfa to Cavallo

Marfa Municipal Airport, deep in the high desert of West Texas, is about as far from the Mediterranean as a departure point can feel, which makes the roughly 5,150 nautical mile flight to Cavallo an especially dramatic undertaking. A heavy business jet suits the distance well; the Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000 can complete the crossing without a fuel stop, typically cruising in the mid-40,000s to take advantage of smoother air and better fuel efficiency over such a long sector. Cavallo, part of the Lavezzi archipelago at Corsica’s southern tip, has no airstrip of its own, so passengers arrive via Figari-Sud Corse followed by a short onward transfer to the island. There, the contrast with Marfa’s arid plains could hardly be greater: car-free lanes wind between private villas, pink granite boulders frame impossibly clear water, and the Strait of Bonifacio stretches out towards Sardinia on the horizon. Nearby Bonifacio, its pastel citadel perched on limestone cliffs above an old fishing harbour, offers an easy excursion for those wanting restaurants or a walk through its narrow medieval streets. Travellers leaving the vast, dry openness of the Chihuahuan Desert behind will find the shift to Mediterranean island life a genuine reset, trading big sky and scrubland for granite islets and open sea. This route suits guests seeking a complete change of scenery and pace, with the aircraft’s range built to absorb the long eastbound crossing without requiring an intermediate stop along the way. Given the remoteness of Marfa, operators typically coordinate fuel and customs arrangements well in advance, ensuring the long eastbound crossing gets underway smoothly despite the limited infrastructure at the departure end.
