Private Jet Newark to Knoxville

The 548-nautical-mile sector between Newark and Knoxville is well matched to light jet aircraft, with the Embraer Phenom 300 and Cessna Citation CJ4 both commonly flown on this route. Each cruises comfortably up to 45,000 feet, clearing the congested airspace and frequent weather systems of the New York metropolitan area, and both offer a cabin suited to the roughly hour-long flight. Newark Liberty International Airport provides dedicated general aviation facilities that let private aviation passengers avoid the delays typical of one of the country’s busiest commercial airports entirely. Arriving passengers land at McGhee Tyson Airport, a short drive from downtown Knoxville, the University of Tennessee campus, and the restaurants and breweries around Market Square and the Old City. The city is best known for its role as gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in the United States, drawing many onward to Gatlinburg and the trailheads beyond. The New York metropolitan area’s dense concentration of finance, media and corporate headquarters keeps this corridor consistently busy with business travel, with executives frequently making same-day trips to East Tennessee’s manufacturing and logistics base, while leisure travellers use the route to trade the pace of the Northeast for a few days of hiking or whitewater rafting on the Pigeon River, a swap made easy by a flight of barely over an hour. Some travellers on this corridor extend their stay with a visit to the Sunsphere’s observation deck or an evening along the restaurants of Gay Street downtown, a quieter contrast to the density of the New York metropolitan area they have just left behind.
