Private Jet Oshawa to Akron

Oshawa’s long association with Canadian automotive manufacturing gives the 209-nautical-mile route to Akron a natural logic, connecting one assembly-line city with another whose own factories once supplied the rubber for countless vehicles built down the road in Ontario. A light jet such as a Citation CJ4 or a turboprop like a Pilatus PC-12 covers the roughly half-hour crossing with ease, making this one of the quickest border hops available in the network. Flights depart Oshawa Executive Airport, a dedicated business aviation field that avoids the congestion of Toronto Pearson for travellers based east of the city, before a short flight across Lake Erie brings passengers into Akron-Canton Airport. From there it is a short drive to Derby Downs, home each summer to the All-American Soap Box Derby, a piece of American small-town tradition that has quietly endured in Akron since the 1930s. This sector suits automotive and manufacturing executives linking Ontario’s industrial heartland with Ohio’s rubber and components sector, as well as private travellers for whom the brief flight time outweighs the formalities of an international crossing. Given the short distance involved, the real advantage of chartering lies in avoiding the long drive around Lake Erie or the inconvenient connection a scheduled itinerary would otherwise impose on what is, in flying terms, barely more than a brief regional hop. For executives whose working day does not allow for a long drive around the western end of Lake Erie, the certainty of a scheduled charter departure, rather than the unpredictability of border traffic on the Queen Elizabeth Way, is often reason enough to fly rather than drive this particular crossing.
