Private Jet Portland to Timphou

At around 6,092 nautical miles, Portland to Timphou is one of the shorter of the transpacific sectors The Jet Collection arranges to Bhutan, with a flight time of roughly eleven and a half hours. A Bombardier Global 6000 or Gulfstream G650ER is well suited to this distance, both types offering the range and cabin comfort needed for an overnight-length crossing, with cruise altitudes near 45,000 to 51,000 feet keeping the aircraft above much of the weather along the way. Passengers depart from Portland International Airport, a well-equipped Pacific Northwest hub that handles a steady flow of long-range private traffic. Timphou lies within the Paro valley of Bhutan, home to an airport approach widely considered among the most demanding anywhere, threaded between steep Himalayan slopes and flown only by pilots holding specific certification for the terrain. Bhutan pursues Gross National Happiness as a central measure of national progress, and Thimphu, its capital, remains the only one in the world without traffic lights, its intersections overseen instead by officers directing vehicles by hand. Most visitors make the climb to Paro Taktsang, the Tiger’s Nest monastery set into a cliff face above the valley floor, and continue to the dzongs of Punakha and Thimphu, structures that still serve dual roles as monasteries and centres of government. For travellers departing the Pacific Northwest, this route offers a relatively efficient path to one of the most secluded kingdoms on earth, reached in private comfort rather than through the multiple connections a scheduled itinerary to Bhutan would otherwise require, and rewarding the effort with scenery and traditions found nowhere else.
