Private Jet Porto Heli to Vancouver

Porto Heli sits on the Argolic Gulf in the Peloponnese, a low-key but genuinely chic resort town favoured by the Athenian yachting set and within easy reach of Spetses across the water, and it is from here that the 5,501 nautical mile run to Vancouver, Washington begins. Porto Heli Airport handles the immediate departure, though flights on this route often route through Kalamata International Airport, sharing infrastructure with other Peloponnese gateways for the long-haul leg. An ultra-long-range aircraft is required for a sector spanning this many nautical miles, and the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500 are the natural picks, both engineered to cross the Atlantic and the polar routes without a fuel stop while cruising as high as 45,000 feet, comfortably above weather and congested airspace. Cabin pressurisation on either aircraft keeps the equivalent altitude low, which travellers tend to notice most on a crossing of eleven hours or more. Touchdown happens at Pearson Field, an airfield with genuine aviation pedigree on the banks of the Columbia River, directly across from Portland, Oregon, and ranked among the oldest operating airfields in the United States. From there, guests are minutes from Portland’s culinary and cultural offerings, a short drive from the vineyards of the Willamette Valley, and within sight of the Cascades on a clear day. The transition from Porto Heli’s harbourside tavernas and yacht-lined coves to this river city’s forested calm marks a genuine change of pace rather than a simple relocation. The route suits travellers who have spent a season on the Argolic Gulf and are ready to trade Mediterranean glamour for the understated sophistication of Oregon’s wine country and its neighbouring city across the Columbia, a natural next stop for anyone who has spent the season hopping between Porto Heli and Spetses by boat.
