Private Jet Portofino to Horseshoe Bay Resort

Portofino to Horseshoe Bay Resort spans roughly 4,823 nautical miles, connecting the Italian Riviera with the golf resorts of the Texas Hill Country. Departures are made from Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, the closest suitable field to Portofino’s harbour, and a Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500 is required for a crossing of this length, cruising at altitudes up to 51,000 feet for a flight time of around nine hours that covers the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and much of the American South in a single sector. Guests leaving behind Portofino’s pastel harbour and yacht filled marina settle into a long haul cabin before arriving at Horseshoe Bay, where a very different marina on Lake LBJ and three Robert Trent Jones Jr golf courses offer their own take on lakeside leisure. The Hill Country beyond the resort, with its wine region near Fredericksburg and the swimming holes of the Pedernales River, gives Italian Riviera visitors plenty to explore inland, while Austin’s restaurants and live music scene appeals to those extending their stay. This route typically serves owners with yachts or property along the Ligurian coast who also maintain a Texas base, avoiding the multiple connections a commercial itinerary through a major European or American hub would otherwise require for a journey of this length and complexity. Given the specialised ultra long range aircraft needed, operators generally recommend booking this sector at least a week ahead, and cabins are usually configured with a bedroom suite to allow proper rest during the long transatlantic crossing. The resort’s spa, drawing on lavender and rosemary grown in the surrounding hills, offers a further point of comparison for guests used to the wellness culture of the Ligurian coast, while the calm of Lake LBJ provides a gentler pace than the busy summer anchorages back home.
