Private Jet Punta Arenas to Peoria

Punta Arenas and Peoria, Illinois lie 5,727 nautical miles apart, a sector within reach of an ultra-long-range jet; a Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500 covers the distance nonstop, cruising at altitudes up to 51,000 feet above the often turbulent weather that affects Chile’s far south. Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo International Airport, serving the southernmost major city in the Americas and the principal gateway to Chilean Patagonia and Antarctic expeditions, experiences some of the strongest and most variable winds of any commercial airport anywhere, a factor experienced crews plan around meticulously. On arrival in Illinois, passengers reach Peoria, where Eureka College, a short drive east of the city and alma mater of Ronald Reagan, adds an unexpected point of American political history to the surrounding farmland. The Global 7500’s cabin, divided into four distinct living areas, lets a small group rest properly across a flight of close to ten hours. For passengers leaving the wind-scoured tip of South America, the flat, settled farmland around Peoria offers a landscape about as different as this network connects anywhere. Crews flying this sector pay particularly close attention to wind forecasts out of Punta Arenas, since the strong, gusty conditions typical of the region can affect both departure timing and routing. This exceptionally long sector suits Antarctic expedition operators, mining and energy executives with interests spanning Chilean Patagonia and the American Midwest, and anyone for whom the flexibility of a private nonstop crossing outweighs the limited and infrequent scheduled service that connects these two remote points on the map today.
