Private Jet Reno to Cavallo

Reno to Cavallo covers 6,000 nautical miles, one of the longer sectors on the network, requiring an ultra-long-range jet such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500, with cruise altitudes reaching toward 45,000 to 51,000 feet and a flight time approaching ten and a half hours. Reno-Tahoe International Airport serves a city on the edge of the Sierra Nevada, known equally for casinos and for its proximity to Lake Tahoe’s alpine scenery, a landscape entirely unlike the granite Mediterranean shoreline awaiting arrival. Cavallo lies at the far end of that long crossing, a small island within the Lavezzi archipelago off Corsica’s southern coast, reached only by helicopter since it has no runway of its own. The strait toward Sardinia is protected as a marine reserve, its clarity a defining feature of an island long favoured by a discreet, well-travelled clientele who prize the handful of restaurants and villas over larger, more conventional resort developments elsewhere on the coast. Given the exceptional distance, this route is realistically suited only to travellers building a substantial European stay into their plans, with fuel, crew duty and any technical stop requiring early attention. For guests based near Lake Tahoe, it offers an ambitious but rewarding way to trade Sierra Nevada scenery for Mediterranean seclusion. A technical stop is likely necessary depending on aircraft type, payload and prevailing winds, and operators generally recommend building ample flexibility into scheduling for a crossing of this scale. Guests who know Tahoe’s mix of alpine drama and high-altitude clarity often find an unexpected kinship in Cavallo’s own combination of dramatic granite scenery and equally clear water, despite the two places having almost nothing else in common.
