Private Jet Saint Petersburg to Cavallo

The corridor between Saint Petersburg and Cavallo runs 1,570 nautical miles, within comfortable range of a light jet such as the Phenom 300 or Citation CJ4, with a flight time of around three hours at cruise altitudes in the low forties of thousands of feet. Pulkovo Airport serves Russia’s cultural capital, a city of canals, palaces and the vast collections of the Hermitage, whose imperial grandeur offers a deliberate contrast to the understated simplicity that defines Cavallo at the other end of the route. Cavallo, the destination, is a granite island within the Lavezzi archipelago south of Corsica, accessible only by helicopter to its dedicated helistrip, since no runway serves the island directly. The channel toward Sardinia is protected as a marine reserve, and the resulting water clarity has long attracted a discreet clientele who value the island’s small scale, its handful of restaurants, and its distance from the busier ports found elsewhere along the Mediterranean. This route suits travellers from northern Russia looking for a direct link to one of the Mediterranean’s most private island escapes, without the inconvenience of connecting through a larger hub. Given the roughly three-hour flight, an early afternoon departure allows guests to be settled on Cavallo, helicopter transfer included, comfortably before dinner. St Petersburg’s role as a major charter departure point means slot availability is rarely a constraint, and travellers can generally arrange this route with relatively short notice outside the very peak of the summer season, when demand for both the aircraft and the island itself tends to concentrate around a handful of especially popular weeks. Once on Cavallo, guests typically find the pace of life slows considerably compared with the city they have just left behind.
