Private Jet Serengeti to Cavallo

The Serengeti to Cavallo route measures roughly 2,946 nautical miles, a sector well matched to a super mid-size jet such as the Challenger 350, departing directly from Seronera Airstrip in the heart of Tanzania’s plains. Cruising near 45,000 feet, the aircraft handles the roughly five and three-quarter hour crossing with a cabin well suited to travellers moving straight from a safari camp to a Mediterranean island, a transition few routes in private aviation manage quite so directly. Cavallo, the destination, belongs to the Lavezzi archipelago, a cluster of granite islands set within the Bonifacio Strait between Corsica and Sardinia. Where the Serengeti offers open grassland and migrating wildlife, Cavallo presents a completely different rhythm, one built around pine-covered granite and water of exceptional clarity, with no roads or vehicles connecting the island’s scattered villas. Strong currents through the strait keep the sea remarkably transparent, a feature long appreciated by sailors and one that has helped the island cultivate a discreet, largely European following over the decades. Development has stayed deliberately minimal throughout Cavallo’s history, with owners consistently prioritising natural preservation over any expansion of visitor capacity. There is no commercial hub here, only villa terraces catching the evening light and the occasional yacht anchored in a sheltered cove. For travellers coming off a Tanzanian safari, the island offers a fitting decompression, trading dawn game drives for slow mornings by the water, and the route suits guests looking to close out an East African journey with several days of genuine rest. The pace suits it well: mornings for swimming, afternoons drifting by boat to a neighbouring cove, and evenings unwinding over dinner as the light fades across the strait.
