Private Jet Shima to Grand Rapids

Shima and Grand Rapids are separated by approximately 5,623 nautical miles, a distance suited to an ultra-long-range jet. A Gulfstream G650ER handles this Pacific crossing comfortably, its cabin well suited to the roughly eleven-hour journey between central Japan and the American Midwest, with cruise altitudes above 45,000 feet keeping the aircraft above most weather for long stretches of the route. Departures use Chūbu Centrair, serving the Nagoya region and built on an artificial island in Ise Bay. Shima, part of Mie Prefecture, is known for its pearl cultivation, coastal national park and as the site of the 2016 G7 summit, offering a quieter, more traditional side of Japan than its larger cities. Grand Rapids presents a contrasting Midwestern setting on arrival, a city built on furniture manufacturing and now equally known for craft brewing and the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Arrivals land at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. This route suits travellers with interests in Japan’s pearl and fisheries industries, as well as those seeking a quieter cultural escape before returning to business or family commitments in Michigan, for whom private charter considerably shortens a journey that commercial routings would otherwise stretch through Tokyo and a major American hub. Ise Shrine, one of Shinto’s most sacred sites and located nearby in Mie Prefecture, draws pilgrims and visitors seeking a more spiritual side of Japan away from the crowds of Tokyo or Osaka. Local aquaculture in the surrounding bay continues to supply pearls to jewellers around the world, a tradition dating back more than a century in this part of Japan.
