Private Jet Simpson Bay to Chattanooga

Simpson Bay to Chattanooga covers approximately 1,565 nautical miles, connecting St Maarten, home to one of the most famous short runways in commercial aviation, with a far smaller river city in the Tennessee Valley. Flights depart Princess Juliana International Airport, where aircraft pass low over Maho Beach on final approach in one of the most photographed landings anywhere in the world, before tracking north-west across the Caribbean towards Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport. Despite the airport’s famous approach, the runway itself comfortably accommodates mid-size business jets, and the Challenger 350 or Gulfstream G280 are typically flown, both offering the cabin comfort and cruise performance needed for a flight of a little over three hours. St Maarten’s aviation fame has no obvious Chattanooga equivalent, though the city’s own Lookout Mountain Incline Railway offers its own, gentler brand of dramatic approach, climbing one of the steepest passenger grades of any railway in the world to views that stretch across several states. The route suits hospitality and gaming industry executives moving between St Maarten’s dual Dutch and French tourism economies and American partners, as well as aviation enthusiasts drawn to one of the Caribbean’s most storied airfields. Given the moderate flight time, operators generally find this an easy route to schedule outside the busiest winter cruise and tourist season, and the short ground time typically needed at either airport keeps the overall journey efficient. Most passengers booking this particular route specifically request the window seats needed to catch the famous Maho Beach approach on the way out of St Maarten.
