Private Jet St Moritz to Gilbert

Engadin Airport, Europe’s highest commercial airfield at over 5,600 feet, serves St Moritz’s charter traffic, though its altitude and runway length mean the onward 5,075 nautical mile crossing to Gilbert is typically flown from a larger staging airport by an ultra-long-range aircraft such as the Gulfstream G650ER, capable of the roughly eleven-hour flight at cruise altitudes up to 51,000 feet across the Alps, the North Atlantic and Canada. Arrival is into Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, a former Air Force base whose light traffic and long runways make it the preferred point of entry for private charters over the more congested Sky Harbor. St Moritz has cultivated an image as one of the world’s original winter sports resorts, having hosted two Winter Olympics and remaining a fixture of the European social season each January and February. Gilbert offers a striking counterpoint, a flat desert town whose growth from farmland into one of the East Valley’s largest municipalities has taken place almost entirely within the past three decades, its identity built around healthcare and semiconductor manufacturing rather than alpine tourism. The route carries an overwhelmingly leisure passenger base, typically travellers dividing their year between a St Moritz winter and an Arizona stretch of golf, spa treatments and guaranteed sunshine once the ski season winds down. Given Engadin’s altitude restrictions and the considerable length of the transatlantic leg that follows, this itinerary benefits from an operator experienced in coordinating both segments smoothly, ensuring the change of aircraft adds minimal delay to an already long day of travel for everyone involved.
