Private Jet Staniel Cay to Capri

Staniel Cay, best known among sailors for the Thunderball Grotto and its resident swimming pigs, lies approximately 4,510 nautical miles from Capri, a sector suited to a Gulfstream G650ER or Global 6000, both able to cruise near 45,000 feet across the roughly eight-and-a-half-hour crossing. Staniel Cay Airport, a modest strip serving the central Exumas, is the departure point for one of the Bahamas’ most tightly knit boating communities, a fitting starting point for a journey to another island whose identity has always been bound up with the sea. Arrival by helicopter into Capri Heliport delivers passengers directly above the town, within a short walk of Via Camerelle’s boutiques and the Certosa di San Giacomo’s shaded cloisters. Capri’s own underwater grotto, the Blue Grotto, draws an entirely different but equally devoted following, its interior lit an intense blue by sunlight passing beneath the cavern’s low natural entrance, typically best visited by small rowing boat in the calm of morning. The Faraglioni stacks rising near Marina Piccola offer the island’s most recognisable silhouette, while the ruins of Villa Jovis on the eastern promontory recall Emperor Tiberius’s decision to govern Rome from this clifftop retreat nearly two thousand years ago. Evenings gravitate toward the Piazzetta, where café tables fill with residents and visitors alike in a scene that has held its character for decades. Given the distance covered, cabin rest matters considerably, and both recommended aircraft offer flat-bed seating designed for long-haul comfort. This route suits Exumas-based travellers and yacht owners extending their season into the Mediterranean, trading one of the Caribbean’s most famous small-boat playgrounds for one of Europe’s most enduring resort islands in a single non-stop hop.
