Private Jet Telluride to Oxnard

Telluride and Oxnard are separated by about 600 nautical miles, a short sector a light jet such as the Phenom 300 or Citation CJ4 covers from Telluride Regional Airport in around an hour and a quarter, cruising at altitudes up to 41,000 feet over the Rockies and the Great Basin before descending into the Southern California coast. Oxnard, on arrival, trades Telluride’s dramatic box canyon and ski slopes for a flat, farmland-backed stretch of Ventura County coastline, with Channel Islands Harbor serving as the main departure point for boat trips into Channel Islands National Park. The surrounding Oxnard Plain remains heavily farmed, strawberries and lemons grown close to the shoreline, and the city’s beaches offer an easy counterpart to Telluride’s mountain scenery. Santa Barbara’s wine country lies within an hour’s drive for those continuing south. Skiers and outdoor enthusiasts based around Telluride often use this route to trade the mountains for the coast within the same trip, and the short flight time means it works equally well as a quick business hop or a spontaneous change of scene. Oxnard’s small, efficient terminal means passengers can be at the harbour or on the beach within a short drive of landing, with Santa Barbara’s wine country offering a further option for those extending their stay. From the terminal, a short drive brings travellers to the harbour, the beach, or further north towards Santa Barbara’s vineyards. The shift from alpine altitude to sea level tends to be a welcome one after a season on the slopes.
