Private Jet Thunder Bay to Porto Heli

The route from Thunder Bay to Porto Heli spans approximately 4,528 nautical miles, a long transatlantic sector requiring a heavy jet such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 6000, both able to fly the distance without a technical stop while cruising up to 51,000 feet, well above the weather systems that typically affect the North Atlantic. Thunder Bay International Airport serves a city on the shores of Lake Superior in northwestern Ontario, historically a major grain shipping port and now known for its access to the wilderness of the Sleeping Giant peninsula and the wider boreal forest that surrounds it. On arrival in Greece, guests land at Porto Heli’s own small airport or Kalamata International Airport, both convenient for a resort town on the Argolic Gulf that faces the island of Spetses and sits within easy reach of the Mycenaean citadel and the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. Pine-covered hills and olive groves surround the bay, offering a warmer, gentler landscape than the boreal forest around Lake Superior, and the area’s calm, sheltered waters have become a favoured summer anchorage for superyachts in the eastern Mediterranean. A heavy jet’s cabin, with separate zones for rest and work and a proper galley service, matters considerably on a sector approaching nine hours, helping passengers arrive genuinely rested despite the distance and time zones crossed. This route suits Canadian travellers with interests in the Great Lakes region and a Mediterranean base, offering a direct link between two very different but equally striking lakeside and coastal landscapes.
