Private Jet Timphou to Long Beach

Timphou to Long Beach, using Bhutan’s Paro International Airport, spans approximately 6,805 nautical miles, a long crossing that calls for an ultra-long-range aircraft such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Global 7500, either suited to the roughly twelve and three-quarter hour flight given adequate reserves for the mountainous terrain surrounding the Bhutanese departure and the long Pacific segment that follows. Paro itself is one of the more technically demanding airports in the world, set in a steep Himalayan valley and requiring specially qualified crews for the approach and departure, a factor that shapes planning for this route as much as the distance itself. Once airborne, cruise altitudes near 45,000 feet allow the aircraft to operate efficiently above most weather for the remainder of the journey. Arrival in Long Beach offers about as complete a change of scene as the network provides: a Southern California harbour city home to the Aquarium of the Pacific, the historic Queen Mary, and the Port of Long Beach, one of the busiest container ports in the country, replacing the terraced valleys and monasteries of the Bhutanese approach with beaches, marinas and container cranes. This pairing is a rare one, typically flown by travellers concluding a bespoke Bhutanese itinerary who wish to return directly to a Southern California base rather than routing back through a South or East Asian hub. Given the specialised nature of the Paro departure and the length of the onward crossing, this route demands considerably more advance coordination with the operator than almost any other sector in the network.
