Private Jet Vero Beach to Vence

Between Vero Beach and Vence lies a distance of about 4,180 nautical miles, a sector generally flown on a heavy jet such as the Gulfstream G550, which manages the crossing in one leg while cruising near 45,000 feet, above most of the weather that can trouble a long Atlantic sector. Vero Beach International Airport offers a relaxed, uncongested departure point on Florida’s Treasure Coast, well suited to the kind of private, unhurried start this length of journey rewards. The G550’s cabin, with its flat-bed seating and established reliability on long transatlantic sectors, remains one of the more popular choices for operators flying this corridor. At journey’s end, Vence rises above the Mediterranean on a limestone terrace a short drive inland from Nice, its old town still held within ramparts built in medieval times. The streets inside are narrow and largely car-free, opening onto small squares and leading to a cathedral built in part on Roman foundations. Just outside the walls stands the Chapelle du Rosaire, designed entirely by Henri Matisse during the final years of his life, its stained glass casting shifting colour across an otherwise plain white interior. Vence’s elevated position keeps it noticeably cooler than the coastal strip in high summer, and its surrounding hillsides remain planted with olive groves. Travellers from Florida choosing this route are typically drawn by an extended stay in the hills above the Riviera, an interest in the region’s art and history, or a quieter alternative to the busier resorts along the coast at Nice and Cannes.
