Private Jet Portland to Capri

Portland, Oregon, sits roughly 5,150 nautical miles from Capri, a westbound sector that calls for a Gulfstream G650ER or Global 6000, both able to cruise near 45,000 to 51,000 feet across a crossing of about nine and three-quarter hours. Portland International Airport serves a city known for its surrounding forests, rivers and famously independent food and coffee culture, a laid-back sensibility that shifts into something more overtly glamorous on arrival at the other end of the flight. Passengers land by helicopter into Capri Heliport, directly above the town, and can be seated at a Piazzetta café table within minutes, taking in a ritual that has drawn visitors here for close to a century. Via Camerelle’s boutiques sit close by, as does the Certosa di San Giacomo, whose fourteenth-century cloisters offer a genuinely quiet alternative to the harbour crowds. The Faraglioni stacks and the Blue Grotto’s shifting blue cavern remain the two sights most first-time visitors make a point of seeing, ideally combined into a single boat trip along the coastline in the calmer waters of morning. Anacapri, reached via the Monte Solaro chairlift, offers sweeping views across the Bay of Naples toward Vesuvius for those willing to make the climb. Given the length of this transcontinental and transatlantic sector, cabin comfort is a genuine consideration, and both recommended aircraft offer flat-bed rest suited to a journey of this duration. This route suits Pacific Northwest travellers seeking a complete change of pace, trading forested hills and a famously unhurried local culture for an island whose reputation for glamour has held steady since the mid-twentieth century and shows little sign of fading.
