Private Jet Dublin to Madeira

Dublin to Madeira is one of the shorter Atlantic-facing sectors in this network, a 1,321 nautical mile hop that nonetheless carries travellers from Ireland’s grey maritime climate into genuinely subtropical territory within a couple of hours. A super mid-size jet such as the Gulfstream G280 handles the distance with ease and comfortably outpaces the sector’s minimum range requirements, while a well-equipped mid-size option like the Citation CJ4 remains viable for smaller groups prioritising efficiency over cabin space. Cruise altitudes in the low 40,000s keep the ride settled over the Bay of Biscay and the open Atlantic beyond it. Flights depart from Dublin International Airport, where general aviation handling is efficient enough that guests can often go from car to cabin in well under half an hour. Arrival is into Madeira Airport, whose extended runway sits partly on stilts above the sea, a striking first impression before the descent into Funchal proper. The island’s appeal for Irish travellers tends to centre on its walking trails, particularly the levadas, centuries-old irrigation channels that thread through laurel forest and offer some of the more rewarding hiking anywhere in the Atlantic. Wine estates around Câmara de Lobos and the terraced banana plantations along the south coast add further texture to a short stay. Given the modest flight time relative to other Madeira routes in this network, the sector suits weekend and long-weekend travel particularly well, appealing to guests wanting warmth and scenery without sacrificing much of their week to travel. Direct commercial links exist but rarely at convenient hours, which keeps demand for private charter on this route consistently healthy among regular visitors.
