Private Jet Martha’s Vineyard to Charlestown

Martha’s Vineyard to Charlestown, Nevis covers roughly 1,521 nautical miles, a three-hour sector well suited to a light or mid-size jet, with the Citation CJ4 offering the range and comfort needed for the full crossing down the Eastern Seaboard and out over open Atlantic water. Departures use Martha’s Vineyard Airport, an island field that experiences a considerable summer surge in private aviation activity as visitors flock to the Vineyard’s beaches and villages. The route heads south past the Carolinas and the Bahamas before making landfall on Nevis. The Vineyard’s clapboard cottages and lighthouse-dotted coastline give way, at journey’s end, to a landscape organised entirely around a single dormant volcano. Charlestown, the capital of Nevis, is built on a natural harbour and has preserved much of its eighteenth-century character, its stone buildings and courthouse a reminder of the island’s era as a significant sugar producer. The descent into Vance W. Amory International Airport tracks low along the coast, with the reef visible in the final moments before touchdown. This route suits Vineyard-based travellers looking to extend their season southward once the New England summer draws to a close, or those seeking a private winter retreat well away from busier Caribbean hubs. A mid-size jet offers useful additional range margin over a light jet for this distance, particularly valuable on a return leg flown with a full cabin, while smaller groups will find a light jet perfectly adequate for the crossing. Travellers based on the Vineyard often pair this crossing with a stop in South Florida, splitting the distance into two shorter legs rather than flying the full sector in a single stretch.
