Private Jet Simpson Bay to Long Beach

Simpson Bay, on the Dutch side of St Maarten, connects to Long Beach across roughly 3,085 nautical miles, a sector generally flown aboard a super mid-size or heavy jet such as the Gulfstream G280 or G550. Princess Juliana International Airport, famous for its low beach approach, is one of the Caribbean’s best-equipped fields for private aviation, and departures there are typically efficient despite the airport’s fame as a spectator destination. The flight heads west over the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and the American Southwest, cruising around 43,000 feet for a duration of roughly six hours before descending into Long Beach, a field prized for its speed of arrival compared with the sprawl of LAX. Guests touching down are close to the Queen Mary, Shoreline Village and the beaches of Belmont Shore, with Downtown Los Angeles a manageable drive beyond. Cabins in this class offer a flat-floor layout, a private aft cabin on the larger aircraft, and a galley suited to full in-flight dining across the sector’s length. Given the considerable westbound time change, many charter clients favour departing St Maarten in the late morning so as to arrive in California while there is still useful daylight for onward plans. This route is popular with the yacht charter community based around Simpson Bay Lagoon and with real estate investors holding property on both sides of the Americas, all of whom value the certainty of a private schedule over the layovers a commercial itinerary between these two markets would require. Long Beach itself offers plenty to justify a stopover beyond the transfer, with its harbour walks, the Museum of Latin American Art, and an easy rail link into Downtown Los Angeles for guests continuing on business.
