Private Jet Abacos to Huntington Beach

A little over 2,155 nautical miles separate the Abacos from Huntington Beach, placing this crossing within easy reach of mid-size and super mid-size jets alike. The Bombardier Challenger 350, among others in that bracket, covers the roughly four-hour-fifteen-minute flight with ease, typically cruising between 39,000 and 43,000 feet for an efficient transit across the Gulf of Mexico and the Southwestern United States. Departures use Leonard M. Thompson International Airport on Great Abaco, serving an island chain long popular with sailors and second-home owners for its pastel-painted settlements and protected cruising grounds. From the Abacos’ quiet marinas and colonial-era architecture, arriving in Huntington Beach brings a shift to a far busier, more athletic coastline: a wide beach that hosts the US Open of Surfing each summer, a historic pier stretching into the swell, and a downtown built around beachgoers and surf culture rather than sailboats. John Wayne Airport receives flights, putting Orange County’s business parks and the yacht harbours of Newport Beach within a short drive. This route suits boat owners and second-home holders in the Abacos maintaining ties to Southern California, as well as West Coast travellers seeking the gentler pace of the Bahamian Out Islands. Given the modest scale of Leonard M. Thompson’s facilities, The Jet Collection pays close attention to ground handling and fuel logistics when planning this sector, particularly during the busier winter cruising season when the Abacos see a marked rise in private traffic from both the US East Coast and further afield, and when advance notice helps avoid delays on arrival.
