Private Jet Ibiza to Clarksville

Ibiza’s airport sees as much private jet traffic in peak season as almost any field in the Mediterranean, and from here the 4,041-nautical-mile route to Clarksville, Tennessee, calls for a Gulfstream G550, an aircraft whose range comfortably absorbs the island’s sometimes congested summer departure slots without compromising the non-stop crossing. A cruising altitude near 45,000 feet keeps the aircraft well above the thunderstorm activity that can build over the Atlantic in warmer months. Clarksville, Tennessee, could scarcely present a greater contrast to Ibiza’s nightlife, built instead around Fort Campbell, home to the 101st Airborne Division, and a historic downtown that sits along the Cumberland River. The restored Customs House, a former nineteenth-century railway depot, now operates as a museum covering the city’s tobacco-trading past and its present as a growing centre for manufacturing, including a significant tyre plant that has drawn jobs and investment to the county in recent years. Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Airport, the arrival point for this route, sits within easy reach of both Fort Campbell and Austin Peay State University. Nashville is a further forty-five miles south for travellers continuing their journey. The clientele on this particular sector tends to split between European holidaymakers extending an island season with business or family stops in the American South, and the steadier flow of contractors and executives whose work is tied to Fort Campbell and the region’s expanding manufacturing base. The contrast between the two destinations rarely fails to amuse frequent flyers who book this particular sector more than once a year.
