Helsinki Airport (HEL) is Finland’s main international airport, located in the Aviapolis district of Vantaa, about 17 km north of Helsinki city centre. It handled close to 17 million passengers in 2025. The airport has three asphalt runways measuring 3,500 metres (11,483 feet), 3,060 metres (10,039 feet) and 2,901 metres (9,518 feet), and sits at an elevation of 180 feet (55 metres) at coordinates 60.3172° N, 24.9633° E.
Three long runways and experience of northern winters make Helsinki a dependable airport for business jets of every size, including long-range aircraft. At night, runway use is managed to limit noise over residential areas. The Ring Rail Line connects the terminal to Helsinki Central in about 30 minutes, while the drive to the centre or to Espoo, home to several large Finnish companies, takes around 25 to 35 minutes. With Russian airspace closed since 2022, some routes to Asia take longer than before. The Jet Collection arranges flights into Helsinki with handling, de-icing planning in winter and ground transport to the city.
