Private Jet Abacos to Spokane

The Abacos, in the northern Bahamas, sit about 2,285 nautical miles from Spokane, a distance a super-mid-size Bombardier Challenger 350 or a Gulfstream G450 covers comfortably in under five hours, cruising near 41,000 feet above the shallow, reef-strewn waters the islands are known for. Leonard M. Thompson International Airport, on Marsh Harbour, serves a chain of cays long favoured by sailors and second-home owners drawn to the Abacos’ relaxed, old-Bahamas character, and its facilities, while modest, are perfectly adequate for the private traffic that flows through steadily during the winter cruising season. Spokane, on arrival, could hardly present a more different picture: a compact city set among the wheat fields and pine forest of Washington’s Inland Northwest, its downtown built around the falls of the Spokane River at Riverfront Park, a survivor of the 1974 World’s Fair, with Gonzaga University supplying much of the area’s collegiate energy. The Selkirk Mountains rise within an easy drive for skiing once winter takes hold. Sailors and second-home families whose Abacos base sits well outside the reach of scheduled airline service make up the bulk of demand for this pairing, and chartering directly is, for most of them, simply the only practical way to reach business or family life in the American Northwest without a tiring, multi-leg itinerary through a larger Bahamian or Florida hub along the way. Fuel and customs stops within the continental United States are sometimes required depending on the specific aircraft chosen and its payload, and an experienced operator will factor this into the quoted schedule rather than leaving it as a surprise on the day of travel.
