Private Jet Abacos to St. George

The Abacos and St. George lie roughly 1,955 nautical miles apart, a sector comfortably flown by a mid-size or super-mid jet such as a Challenger 350 or Gulfstream G280 in around four hours. Leonard M. Thompson International Airport, serving Marsh Harbour, provides straightforward private aviation access for this popular sailing and diving destination in the northern Bahamas. St. George Regional Airport welcomes arrivals into a landscape of red sandstone cliffs and volcanic mesas, a considerable shift from the Abacos’ pastel-painted settlements and barrier reef. Zion National Park lies a short drive away, and Snow Canyon State Park’s lava fields and dunes sit closer to town. The city’s dry climate and abundance of golf courses offer a fitting second act to a trip that began among the cays. This pairing suits leisure travellers extending an Abacos sailing trip into a national parks adventure, as well as owners of island property connecting to business interests further west. Scheduled service between these points would typically require connections through Nassau and a Florida hub, consuming much of a day; a direct charter keeps the journey to one sector, sparing travellers the disruption that multiple flights would otherwise bring to an already varied itinerary. St. George’s compact terminal then keeps ground time brief on arrival, letting sailors-turned-hikers reach their accommodation or a first trail within the hour of touching down in the desert. The route works especially well as the second half of a longer island-hopping trip through the Bahamas chain. Diving enthusiasts in particular appreciate the ease of moving from the reef to the red rock in a single afternoon.
