Private Jet Accra to Cavallo

The route between Accra and Cavallo covers around 2,216 nautical miles, a distance that sits well within the comfortable operating range of a mid-size jet such as the Bombardier Challenger 350 or Gulfstream G280, both of which can fly the sector non-stop with fuel reserves to spare. Cruising in the low forties of thousand feet keeps the aircraft above the bulk of the Saharan thermal activity and the more changeable weather that can develop over the western Mediterranean, contributing to a notably smooth ride for a flight of this length. Departure is from Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana’s main hub for private and commercial aviation, with the track running broadly north across West Africa and the desert before descending towards Corsica’s southern tip. Cavallo, the destination, is part of the Lavezzi archipelago, a cluster of granite islets separating Corsica from Sardinia across the Bonifacio Strait; the island has no airstrip of its own, so onward travel is completed by helicopter, typically routed through Figari-Sud Corse to Cavallo’s private helistrip. What awaits is a Mediterranean address that has quietly outlasted several waves of Riviera fashion by staying largely out of view, its coves and clear water drawing a clientele more interested in privacy than in being seen, a marked contrast to the busier anchorages further along the coast. For passengers travelling from Accra, the four-hour-plus flight offers an efficient link between West Africa’s commercial centre and one of the Mediterranean’s most discreet island retreats, and the mid-size cabin’s balance of speed, range and comfort makes it well matched to a sector of this length without the added cost of unnecessary aircraft size.
