Private Jet Amsterdam to Port Louis

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport sits at the start of one of the longer European sectors to Mauritius, a crossing of roughly 5,150 nautical miles best flown by an ultra-long-range jet such as the Bombardier Global 7500 or Gulfstream G650ER. Both aircraft can complete the nine and three-quarter hour flight to Port Louis nonstop, cruising as high as 51,000 feet for long stretches, well above the congested airways and weather systems that can slow scheduled traffic further south. The flight lands at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, a short drive from Port Louis, where Dutch colonial history intersects, somewhat unexpectedly, with the island’s own past: Mauritius was itself a Dutch possession before French and then British rule, a fact the Blue Penny Museum’s exhibits touch on alongside the island’s more famous connection to the extinct dodo. The Champ de Mars racecourse and Caudan Waterfront supply an easy first stop, and the north coast around Grand Baie is a short drive beyond the capital. Dutch travellers, whether executives with interests in Mauritius’s financial services sector or families seeking an unbroken transition from a Northern European winter, benefit from the aircraft’s long-range cabin: fully flat sleeping positions, a dedicated crew rest compartment and a galley equipped for genuine in-flight dining all make the nine-and-three-quarter-hour sector considerably more comfortable than it sounds on paper. Flying this directly from Amsterdam also removes any need for a stopover in the Gulf or East Africa that a commercial itinerary would otherwise require. Amsterdam’s role as a European base for many multinational and shipping firms with Mauritian operations means this sector sees steady demand outside the traditional holiday peaks, and operators familiar with the routing can typically confirm a departure slot within a day or two even at short notice.
