Private Jet Athens to Augusta

Each April, a particular kind of traveller makes the journey from the Greek capital to the banks of the Savannah River: the devoted golf follower bound for Augusta National, home of the Masters, the only major championship contested at the same course every single year. For those departing Athens International Airport, a crossing of 4,849 nautical miles to Augusta calls for an ultra-long-range aircraft capable of covering that distance with genuine comfort rather than mere endurance, and the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500 are the natural choices for a journey of this scale. Both types cruise at altitudes well above 45,000 feet for long stretches of the crossing, clear of the weather and traffic that complicate commercial routings over the Atlantic, and both offer cabins long enough for a proper berth, a private work area, and a crew able to serve a full dinner somewhere over open water. Flight time runs close to eleven hours depending on the winds aloft, which makes a quiet cabin and genuine sleeping arrangements every bit as important as outright range on a route like this. Augusta rewards the effort of arrival. Beyond the azaleas and pine-flanked fairways of the National, the city carries a slower, distinctly Southern rhythm, its grid of nineteenth century streets a world away from the marble and bustle of central Athens. This route suits collectors of major sporting occasions, patrons who plan a year ahead for their badges, and Mediterranean based executives whose interests have quietly extended into the American South. It is not a journey for the impulsive traveller, given the distance and the planning a charter of this scale demands, but for those who value their privacy and their time in equal measure, flying privately from Athens removes the layover, the terminal transfers, and the uncertainty that a crossing of this length would otherwise impose on a commercial itinerary.
