Private Jet Biggin Hill to Madison

London Biggin Hill Airport, one of the busiest business aviation gateways serving the British capital, lies approximately 3,459 nautical miles from Madison, a sector that suits a super mid-size jet such as the Gulfstream G280, whose range of roughly 3,600 nautical miles covers the crossing with a workable margin even against typical winter headwinds. Biggin Hill sits in Kent on London’s southeastern fringe, its dedicated private aviation terminal built specifically to keep charter passengers away from the queues of the capital’s commercial airports, and the routing from there tracks northwest over Ireland and the North Atlantic before making landfall over eastern Canada and continuing into Wisconsin. Cruising near 43,000 feet keeps the G280 above most weather on this North Atlantic crossing, which typically runs just under seven hours. Madison rewards the journey with a scale altogether different from London’s, its entire downtown occupying the narrow isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona and the granite State Capitol serving as the reference point for streets first laid out in 1836. The University of Wisconsin campus adjoins downtown along State Street, and the city’s growing health-technology sector, based largely in the surrounding suburbs, has added business travellers to the traditional flow of students and state officials. For British executives with interests in the region’s biotechnology or insurance industries, or academics visiting the university, the direct Biggin Hill to Madison sector avoids the connection through New York or Chicago that a commercial itinerary would otherwise require, arriving within a short drive of downtown hotels. Business travellers arriving from Biggin Hill often note how quickly the pace changes once through customs, with a taxi from Madison’s airport reaching the Capitol Square in well under fifteen minutes at most hours of the day.
