Private Jet Charleston, WV to Huntington Beach

Charleston, West Virginia and Huntington Beach lie around 1,781 nautical miles apart, a sector generally flown in a mid-size jet such as the Challenger 350, with a super mid-size Gulfstream G280 offering extra cabin room for larger parties over the roughly three-hour crossing, cruising for much of the flight in the mid-forties of thousand feet above the Appalachians and the weather they often generate. West Virginia International Yeager Airport, perched on a flattened ridge above the city and named for aviation pioneer Chuck Yeager, serves the state capital, a compact city on the Kanawha River where the gold-domed State Capitol building, designed by the same architect responsible for parts of the Lincoln Memorial, anchors a downtown surrounded by the forested hills of Appalachia, with the New River Gorge’s dramatic bridge a scenic drive to the south. From the cabin, passengers watch the folded ridgelines of West Virginia give way to the Midwest and Great Plains, then Texas and the Southwest’s deserts, before the Los Angeles Basin opens below. Huntington Beach, the destination, offers nearly ten kilometres of open Pacific sand, a historic pier, and a downtown shaped almost entirely around its surfing culture, hosting the US Open of Surfing each year. Most flights land at John Wayne Airport, a short transfer from Orange County’s beach communities and oceanfront hotels. This sector carries energy and chemical industry executives with West Coast interests, as well as travellers trading Appalachia’s hills for the Pacific’s open coastline on a direct transcontinental sector that avoids any connecting itinerary.
