Private Jet Exumas to Des Moines

Exumas to Des Moines spans roughly 1,399 nautical miles, a flight of around two and three-quarter hours that suits a light, mid-size or super mid-size jet, with the Phenom 300, Citation CJ4 and Challenger 350 all reasonable options depending on party size. Departing Exuma International Airport, travellers leave a chain of islands famed for swimming pigs, turquoise cays and a growing roster of private island retreats, climbing to a cruise altitude near 41,000 feet for a routing across the southeastern United States before descending into Iowa. Des Moines, at the other end of the journey, presents a compact downtown built around insurance underwriting and agribusiness, with Principal Financial Group among its most significant employers and farmland stretching across the horizon that ranks among the most productive anywhere in the world, a striking contrast to the Exumas’ scattered cays and shallow banks. The Des Moines Art Center and a lively riverfront district give the city cultural depth beyond its business reputation. This pairing typically serves vacationing families, yacht owners and private island guests returning to Midwestern business or family commitments. A direct sector spares passengers a connection through Nassau or a Florida gateway, keeping the journey between these two very different destinations to a single comfortable afternoon crossing. The islands’ famous swimming pigs at Big Major Cay have become enough of a draw on their own to justify a dedicated day trip for some charter passengers before the return leg to Iowa. Private island developments across the chain have added a small but growing base of repeat visitors who now treat this corridor as a regular fixture on their travel calendar.
