Private Jet Exumas to San José del Cabo

Exumas and San Jose del Cabo are separated by close to 1,860 nautical miles, a crossing that links one of the Caribbean’s most photographed archipelagos to Mexico’s Pacific-facing resort coast. A super mid-size jet, the Gulfstream G280 among the better-suited types, covers the distance in one leg with a comfortable margin, cruising around 43,000 to 45,000 feet where the ride is generally calmer than lower altitudes over the Gulf of Mexico. Exuma Airport, close to George Town, is well equipped for private aviation and keeps ground time to a minimum before departure. Arrival at Los Cabos International Airport places guests within easy reach of San Jose del Cabo’s estuary reserve and its historic downtown, still centred on the original mission settlement rather than the newer hotel strip. The coastline here is a study in contrast, with the calmer Sea of Cortez on one side and the open Pacific swell on the other, meeting dramatically at the rock formations of Land’s End. Between late autumn and spring, migrating whales pass close enough to shore that sightings from land are common, and several local operators run small-boat trips out to meet them respectfully. The surrounding waters are equally known among anglers for striped marlin and dorado, keeping the marina busy well beyond whale season. Travellers on this pairing are frequently moving between two boating or fishing bases, treating the flight as the connective leg of a wider itinerary that spans both coasts. Direct private travel avoids the extended routing a commercial alternative would involve, landing guests close to their onward marina or resort with the day still largely intact for arrival plans.
