Private Jet Gaborone to Cavallo

Covering approximately 4,076 nautical miles, the flight from Gaborone to Cavallo takes a heavy business jet from the heart of southern Africa to the Bonifacio Strait in a single long sector, a journey for which the Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000 are the natural fit thanks to their intercontinental range and cabin endurance. Cruise altitude will generally sit near 45,000 feet for much of the routing, allowing the aircraft to fly above most weather systems encountered over the African interior and the Mediterranean basin alike. The sector begins at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport, Botswana’s principal gateway, and tracks broadly north-west across the continent before making landfall over southern Europe. Cavallo sits at the journey’s end as a small, fiercely private island within the Lavezzi group off southern Corsica, a short helicopter transfer from Figari-Sud Corse and within view of Sardinia’s Maddalena archipelago across the strait. Unlike the larger resort towns dotted along the Corsican and Sardinian coasts, Cavallo has no marina crowds or public beaches to speak of; its appeal lies in granite coves, exceptionally clear water and a longstanding clientele that treats discretion as the primary amenity. For those departing Gaborone, a city better known for diamonds and conservation tourism than for Mediterranean glamour, the route represents a considerable but entirely manageable undertaking in a heavy jet, whose cabin comfort, connectivity and proper rest facilities make the roughly seven-and-a-half-hour flight a productive stretch of work or genuine sleep rather than simply time to be endured, landing travellers ready for the island’s slower rhythm rather than needing a day to recover from the journey itself.
