Private Jet Hailey to Lima

Hailey, gateway to Idaho’s Sun Valley, lies roughly 3,911 nautical miles from Lima, a distance well suited to Heavy Business Jets. Operators regularly turn to the Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000 for this sector, both capable of the nonstop crossing while cruising up to around 45,000 feet, high enough to avoid the mountain wave turbulence that can form over the Rockies just after departure. Friedman Memorial Airport, tucked into the Wood River Valley, handles the private terminal side smoothly despite its mountain setting, a draw for the ski-season and summer crowd who use it year-round. From there, the flight covers Mexico, Central America and the Pacific coast of South America before arriving in Lima, a city with a very different relationship to altitude and geography. The Costa Verde cliffs rise straight from the Pacific along the edge of Miraflores, while the colonial centre a few kilometres inland preserves some of the finest baroque architecture on the continent. Lima’s food scene now rivals any in the world, blending indigenous Peruvian ingredients with the culinary traditions of its large Japanese and Chinese communities, a fusion visible everywhere from street-side ceviche stands to acclaimed tasting-menu restaurants. The city also serves as the financial and diplomatic centre for Peru, home to most major national companies and increasingly to international ones with mining and agricultural interests in the Andes. This route suits Sun Valley’s business and investment community, along with travellers extending their trip toward Cuzco or the Sacred Valley, all served by a direct, private departure that a commercial itinerary from a small mountain airport simply cannot match.
