Private Jet Kelowna to Cavallo

Kelowna’s route to Cavallo measures approximately 4,710 nautical miles, a distance that places it among the network’s more demanding transatlantic sectors and one well suited to a heavy business jet like the Gulfstream G550. Departing Kelowna International Airport in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, the aircraft’s long-range cabin and cruise altitude near 45,000 feet help make the roughly nine-hour journey as comfortable as a sector of this length can be. The destination is Cavallo, a granite island belonging to the Lavezzi archipelago, set within the Bonifacio Strait that runs between Corsica and Sardinia. Development on the island has been kept to a minimum by design: there are no paved roads, no large hotels, and no crowded marina, only footpaths winding between wind-shaped pines and a scattering of villas positioned to preserve their owners’ privacy. The strait’s currents keep the surrounding water exceptionally clear, drawing sailors and swimmers who appreciate visibility rarely found elsewhere on the Mediterranean coast. Cavallo has built its reputation quietly over decades, attracting an international clientele that returns precisely because the island has never chased scale or spectacle. Arriving directly by air, guests bypass the ferry connections that serve much of the Corsican coastline, stepping instead straight from the aircraft onto the island’s own helistrip. For travellers based in the Okanagan, the pairing offers a striking contrast between British Columbia’s lake-and-mountain scenery and a Mediterranean island defined by granite, pine and open water, making the route a natural fit for those seeking a longer, unhurried summer escape rather than a brief stopover.
