Private Jet Kortrijk to Menorca

Kortrijk to Menorca spans about 660 nautical miles, a route a light jet such as the Citation CJ4 completes in roughly ninety minutes, climbing quickly out of Belgium before settling into cruise over France en route to the Mediterranean. Kortrijk–Wevelgem Airport, a compact field near the French border, is well suited to private departures, with none of the congestion found at Brussels’ larger commercial hubs and a short taxi from apron to runway. The contrast on arrival is immediate. Flanders’ flat, densely settled countryside gives way to Menorca’s dry, low hills and a coastline broken into dozens of small coves rather than one continuous shore. Fornells, on the island’s less-developed northern side, remains a working fishing village at heart, its harbour lined with boats that still supply the lobster used in the local caldereta. Further inland, the Talayotic monuments near Alaior and Ferreries offer a glimpse of a Bronze Age culture that predates much of what is typically associated with Mediterranean antiquity, and their protected status has helped keep the surrounding countryside free of development. Belgian travellers making this crossing tend to be drawn by the relative obscurity of the destination compared with the busier Balearic islands, along with a flight time that keeps a long weekend genuinely restful rather than dominated by travel. Arriving into a private terminal with the island’s slower rhythm already setting in, passengers typically find themselves at a harbourside table or a quiet cala within the hour, the flat fields of Flanders already a world away.
