Private Jet Lexington to Tempe

Lexington to Tempe spans 1,365 nautical miles, connecting Kentucky’s bluegrass horse country with the Arizona desert. Flights depart Blue Grass Airport aboard a super-mid-size jet such as the Gulfstream G280, which covers the distance in just over three hours at a cruise near 43,000 feet, comfortably clear of the convective weather that can build over the southern plains during the warmer months. Arrival into Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport brings travellers into a valley ringed by saguaro-covered mountains, with Camelback Mountain and the resort district around Scottsdale within a short drive of Tempe. Tempe, home to Arizona State University and the man-made Tempe Town Lake, has grown into a lively destination of its own, with Mill Avenue’s restaurants and bars drawing steady evening crowds throughout the year. The rolling bluegrass pastures and horse farms around Lexington give way, several hours later, to the saguaro-studded desert basin surrounding Phoenix, a considerable change of scenery for travellers used to Kentucky’s distinctly green landscape. This pairing suits bourbon, horse racing and manufacturing industry executives with ties to the Lexington area and interests in Arizona’s growing technology and manufacturing base, as well as university-connected travellers moving between Lexington and Tempe’s respective college towns. The flight sits comfortably within a super-mid-size jet’s range with reserves to spare, even accounting for headwinds over the southern plains during the return leg. Blue Grass Airport’s efficient general aviation handling gives Lexington’s bourbon and horse industry travellers convenient access to private aviation without the congestion of larger regional hubs. The super-mid-size cabin on this route comfortably handles luggage for an extended stay, and operators recommend booking several days ahead given the moderate size of the charter fleet based in the Kentucky bluegrass region.
