Private Jet Martha’s Vineyard to Augusta

Martha’s Vineyard to Augusta runs 721 nautical miles, a sector well suited to a Citation CJ4 or Phenom 300, cruising efficiently and covering the distance in around an hour and a half. Martha’s Vineyard Airport, serving the Massachusetts island long favoured by artists, writers and a notably private summer clientele, provides the departure, with general aviation facilities well used to handling the island’s considerable seasonal charter traffic. Augusta Regional Airport receives the flight on arrival, a relaxed, uncongested entry point for a city whose global reputation rests chiefly on the Masters Tournament each spring. Outside tournament week, Augusta’s Savannah River waterfront and historic downtown offer a very different rhythm to the Vineyard’s weathered shingle cottages and quiet harbour towns. This corridor follows a seasonal pattern not unlike its Nantucket neighbour, with summer bringing the heaviest traffic to the island itself while a steady spring flow of golf enthusiasts uses this particular route to reach Augusta directly. A light jet’s cabin suits the sector comfortably, offering a proper meal service across ninety minutes aloft, and the privacy private aviation affords is often as much a draw for Vineyard-based travellers as the practical time saved over any scheduled alternative. The island’s deliberate pace, reinforced by a long tradition of discretion among its most prominent summer residents, has made private aviation the natural choice for visitors who value arriving and departing without undue attention. Menemsha’s working fishing harbour offers a quieter counterpoint to the more polished towns of Edgartown and Vineyard Haven elsewhere on the island.
