Private Jet Martha’s Vineyard to Oxnard

Martha’s Vineyard and Oxnard lie roughly 2,320 nautical miles apart, a distance a mid-size or super-mid-size jet flies from Martha’s Vineyard Airport in around four and a half hours, cruising at altitudes up to 45,000 feet across the length of the country before descending into the Southern California coast. Oxnard, on arrival, swaps the Vineyard’s weathered shingle architecture and ferry-linked harbours for Ventura County’s farmland-backed coastline, with Channel Islands Harbor serving as the main departure point for boat trips into Channel Islands National Park. The surrounding Oxnard Plain remains one of the state’s most productive agricultural regions, strawberries and lemons grown close to the shoreline, and the city’s beaches offer a quieter alternative to the Vineyard’s own summer crowds at Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. Santa Barbara’s wine country lies within an hour’s drive. Martha’s Vineyard’s seasonal residents and East Coast professionals frequently use this route to reach Southern California without a commercial connection, preferring Oxnard’s quiet arrival to the scale of Los Angeles International. For those extending their stay, a Channel Islands boat trip offers a different but equally memorable outing to a day spent cycling the Vineyard’s own lanes, and most treat the long crossing as a natural pause between two very different island and coastal experiences. A short drive from the terminal brings arriving passengers quickly to the harbour, the beach, or the road north towards Santa Barbara’s vineyards, making the switch between island and coastline an easy one to manage. Those arriving with time to spare often combine a morning at the harbour with an afternoon drive north towards Santa Barbara’s vineyards.
