Private Jet Martha’s Vineyard to Shima

Martha’s Vineyard to Shima measures roughly 6,022 nautical miles, a considerable sector linking one of New England’s most storied island retreats with the pearl-cultivating inlets of Mie Prefecture. Ground of this scale requires an ultra-long-range aircraft such as the Gulfstream G650ER or Bombardier Global 7500, both capable of cruise altitudes up to around 51,000 feet with cabins purpose-built to preserve comfort across many hours in the air. A technical stop is standard for a journey of this length, and an experienced operator will incorporate it into the routing well ahead of departure. Departure is from Martha’s Vineyard Airport, a seasonal gateway serving the island’s clapboard villages and quiet, dune-backed beaches. Arrival at Chūbu Centrair brings guests into Ise-Shima National Park, celebrated for Ago Bay’s cultured pearl rafts, developed under Kokichi Mikimoto more than a century ago, and for Ise Jingu, Shinto’s most revered shrine, rebuilt in its entirety every twenty years as an act of ceremonial renewal. Coastal towns such as Kashikojima remain known for ama divers and for seafood built around Ise lobster and abalone. The Vineyard’s understated, old-money charm finds a genuine counterpart in Mie Prefecture’s own quiet refinement, both places where restraint speaks louder than display. This route suits travellers extending a New England summer into a considered stay in rural Japan, and given the exceptional length of the flight, the cabin becomes valuable space for rest, allowing guests to arrive composed and ready to explore the Kii Peninsula’s shrine towns from the moment they land, rather than losing the first day to recovery from the journey itself.
