Private Jet Napa to Cavallo

Napa to Cavallo spans roughly 5,346 nautical miles, an ultra-long-range sector well matched to the Gulfstream G650ER, departing Napa County Airport in the heart of California wine country. Cruising at altitudes up to 51,000 feet on favourable routings, the G650ER covers the roughly ten and a quarter hour crossing while keeping cabin pressure altitude notably lower than older long-range aircraft, a comfort difference travellers tend to notice on a journey of this length. Cavallo, the destination, is part of the Lavezzi archipelago, a cluster of granite islands set within the Bonifacio Strait between Corsica and Sardinia. Napa’s rolling vineyards give way to a very different coastal character here, one shaped by maritime pine, granite headlands and water so clear the seabed remains visible several metres down, all without a single road anywhere on the island. Currents flowing through the strait keep the sea exceptionally transparent, a quality that has long drawn sailors and helped the island build a quiet, discerning following among European and international travellers alike. Cavallo’s owners have kept development deliberately minimal for decades, prioritising preservation of the natural landscape over any expansion in visitor numbers. There is no commercial centre here, just villa terraces overlooking the strait and the occasional yacht anchored offshore. For Napa Valley travellers accustomed to a slower, more deliberate pace of hospitality, Cavallo offers a fitting counterpart abroad, well suited to guests planning an extended stay built around sailing and quiet. Afternoons here drift easily between a private cove and a shaded terrace, with dinner often built around the day’s catch and little else on the agenda.
