Private Jet Port Louis to Cavallo

Port Louis to Cavallo runs approximately 4,570 nautical miles, a sector suited to a heavy business jet such as the Bombardier Global 6000, departing Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport on the island of Mauritius. Cruising near 45,000 feet, the aircraft’s range comfortably covers the roughly eight and three-quarter hour crossing, its cabin well suited to travellers moving between two very different island settings within the Indian Ocean and Mediterranean worlds. Cavallo, the destination, is part of the Lavezzi archipelago, a cluster of granite islands set within the Bonifacio Strait between Corsica and Sardinia. Mauritius offers volcanic peaks and coral lagoons, while Cavallo presents a cooler, more austere beauty built around maritime pine and granite, with no roads or vehicles connecting its scattered villas. Strong currents through the strait keep the surrounding sea remarkably transparent, a feature long appreciated by sailors and one that has helped the island build a discreet, largely European following over the decades. Development has stayed deliberately minimal throughout Cavallo’s history, with owners consistently favouring preservation over expansion of visitor capacity. There is no commercial hub here, only villa terraces catching the evening light and the occasional yacht anchored in a sheltered cove. For travellers departing Mauritius, the route offers a genuine contrast in island character, well suited to guests seeking a quieter, more contained Mediterranean counterpart to their Indian Ocean travels. A week or more here allows the island’s rhythm to take hold properly, with mornings for swimming and evenings given over to long, unhurried dinners overlooking the strait.
