Private Jet Rio de janeiro to Cavallo

Spanning some 4,840 nautical miles across the South Atlantic and the length of the Mediterranean, the journey from Rio de Janeiro to the private island of Cavallo ranks among the more ambitious itineraries a charter desk in Rio will arrange, yet it remains entirely achievable in a single non-stop sector for the right aircraft. A heavy business jet such as the Gulfstream G550 or Bombardier Global 6000 is the natural choice for a crossing of this length, offering the fuel reserves and cabin endurance to link Brazil’s second city directly with the Bonifacio Strait without a technical stop, while cruising comfortably in the low-to-mid forties of thousands of feet where winter jet streams and summer convective weather over the Atlantic can largely be flown above. Departure is from Rio de Janeiro Galeao International Airport, whose general aviation handling and long runways suit heavy long-range types fully fuelled for transatlantic work, and the routing typically threads north-east across the ocean before making landfall over the western Mediterranean. Cavallo itself, part of the Lavezzi archipelago off the southern tip of Corsica, is reached by helicopter transfer from the mainland or Figari airport onward to its private helistrip, and the island has built a quiet reputation among European high society for granite coves, translucent water and a level of discretion that larger Riviera resorts cannot match, with the Maddalena Islands and Sardinian coast visible just across the strait. Travellers making the trip from Rio are typically combining a South American business calendar with a summer stretch on the Franco-Italian coast, and the long-haul comfort of a heavy jet cabin, complete with a proper berth and separate seating zones, makes the nine-hour-plus sector considerably more bearable than the distance alone might suggest, arriving refreshed and ready for the island’s unhurried pace.
