Private Jet Sedona to Cavallo

Sedona to Cavallo spans roughly 5,205 nautical miles, a demanding transatlantic sector that suits a heavy business jet like the Gulfstream G550 departing Sedona Airport, perched above Arizona’s red rock canyons. The aircraft’s long-range capability and cabin comfort make it well suited to the roughly ten-hour crossing, with a cruise altitude near 45,000 feet helping to smooth the ride across a journey of this length. Cavallo, the destination, sits within the Lavezzi archipelago, a cluster of granite islands positioned in the Bonifacio Strait between Corsica and Sardinia. The contrast in landscape could hardly be more pronounced: Sedona’s russet cliffs and desert vegetation give way, in a single overnight flight, to a Mediterranean island of pine trees, granite outcrops and impossibly clear turquoise water. Cavallo has no roads and no large-scale development, only sandy footpaths linking a handful of villas positioned for maximum privacy rather than proximity to any commercial centre. Currents flowing through the strait keep the surrounding sea exceptionally transparent, a feature that has long attracted sailors and helped the island cultivate a quiet, discerning international following. Its owners have resisted the kind of expansion seen elsewhere along the Corsican and Sardinian coasts, preserving a rugged character that sets Cavallo apart from more built-up Mediterranean destinations. Guests arrive directly onto the island’s helistrip, bypassing any ferry connection from the mainland. For those departing northern Arizona, the pairing suits travellers drawn to dramatic natural landscapes wherever they find them, offering a second, very different kind of scenic retreat at the far end of a single long-haul flight.
